318 Patchwork Quilt-A-Long – Funky Chickens & A Love Bus
Happy Monday everyone! I hope the start of a fresh new week has been treating you well. My Monday has been a bit slower than usual due to a dental visit and a very sore jaw. Ouch. I did manage to add a new block to my design wall today, the van. The van was a hard block for me, but with a lot of patience I finished it off. Carter the cat helped in his own special way too. I keep looking at this block and think of a 1970’s VW *luv* Bus…..maybe because of the funky prints? It’s done and on the wall so I’m happy.
Here are the 6″ patchwork blocks on my design wall so far. Last Friday I had the Duck, Whale and what I’m calling the Funky Chicken done. These blocks were not too hard to complete either, although my chicken somehow ended up with big ol’ feet and skinny legs!!
Next up in the quilt-a-long I’m going to work on the dog with a bone, house and try again with the scissors block. I’m on attempt number two with that one because all the tiny pieces are really throwing me off. I will conquer it though!
I also finished up my November Sugar Block Club pattern. This one was a quick and easy paper pieced pattern and I have to say this is the best block I’ve done. No trimming, adjusting. Nada. Perfect 12.5″ x 12.5″ block! Woot! I’m going to be sad this see this club come to an end next month. Hopefully Amy will continue with a new club next year. I really enjoy monthly clubs like this. It’s something fun to look forward to and with Amy I’m always learning new techniques which is a bonus.
