WIP Wednesday ~ Ok and Re-do Blocks

|

I finished two more blocks in the 163 Patchwork Book this past week.  One was in what I now call the “easy” section of the book and the other farther in the back.  I am still struggling with enlarging them to an 8″ x 8″ block, but I think if I set my printer to 346% zoom I get an 8″ block printed out. It’s a pain, but I really need to have them as a guide or for piecing.

The first block I finished was メキシカンスタ.  According to Google Translate, this is a Mexican Star. This was a difficult one for me.  I think it was more of a challenge because of the amount of pieces in the block. Somewhere along the way I made a pretty impressive error so I will re-do this block tomorrow.

The second block I finished was ノースカロライナの星 , Which translates into the Star of North Carolina. I used a pale KONA pink for the main fabric, Essex Linen for a few points and a low volume print from my Pink Castle bundle.

This one was a lot easier to finish, but I did struggle a bit on the diamond points.  This will be a keeper for me, so I’ll add to to my growing pile of finished blocks. If you would like to see more blocks from this book, check out their Flickr page HERE. I am linking up today over at Freshly Pieced.

Hope you’re having a great week! We have been under near blizzard conditions since 9am and it’s still coming down really hard. Probably over 15″ at this point. Where is March? Spring? Tulips? Soft Green Grass? Anything warm and sunny?!?!

  1. Wow, really looking at that Mexican star does make me cringe, not sure how you did it! Love the yellow dotted!

    1. Thanks 🙂 Not sure how I did it either! The one I’m working on for this week was so hard I put it away and found an easier one!
