A few new pieces

Have you made Noodlehead’s Open Wide Zippered Pouch before?  They are super easy and can really be customized to fit your needs. Anna includes 3 sizes in her tutorial, but  after sewing a few of the smallest ones I decided to take it a step further and make one even smaller!

So while we were on holiday break I pulled out some Scrumptious fabric from Bonnie & Camille and a leftover piece of leather and went to work. I quilted the squares first and topstitched near the seams. After a good pressing, I added the leather then continued on with Anna’s tutorial.  My finished pouch is about 7″ wide x  5″ tall.  The mini version is the perfect size to hold money and loose change, make-up (which is what I’m using it for) or any number of smaller items.  Too adorable! I want to make a ton more they are so cute and easy!

Yesterday I finished my first quilt block for Amy Gibson’s Sugar Block Club -2014 .  After seeing her blocks from last year’s club, I had to sign up! Each month we get an e-mail with a pdf file for a new 12″ quilt block. There are also yummy recipes, a member area and a Flickr Group to share our work.  I’ve been a fan of Amy’s since I joined her Craftsy BOM club last year so I’m excited to see what’s in store!

Don’t worry, I’m still doing my taxes. I just had to share a few things I’ve completed recently.  And now that I’m on the couch sick with what my boys so kindly shared with me, I’m going to finish up my paperwork and edit pictures of a tutorial I’m going to share soon!  More details in a bit! Thanks for reading. Cindy
