A Few New Projects
I can no longer think of Wednesday as well, Wednesday. Wednesday’s in our house now sound like this: GEICO COMMERCIAL! Please tell me you have seen this and that it drives you crazy too?! All four men in this house acted out this commercial last night. And again this morning. Good thing they are in school right now and it’s quiet for the time being! Where do these people come up with such weird ideas?
On a more exciting and fun note, I finished a bag I had been trying to redesign lately. It is a more shoulder-friendly version of the Japanese Bucket Bag. It’s the same pattern for the most part, but I redesigned the handles and curves near the top. What do you think?
I just love this fun print! And I love it even more because it’s a sturdy indoor-outdoor fabric so stains and water are typically not an issue.
The bag measures roughly 11″ x 14″, but because of the pattern design it opens wide and can fit a ton. I also added 1/2″ knotted twill tape on each side to close the bag. If you tie it all the way, it give another look to the bag than the original ones.
The reason for the handle re-do was that I found the original design of the handles a bit too narrow. I looked nice, but after carrying it around the past few months I realized that it needed to be a bit wider to hang on my shoulder the way I want to. So it evolved into what you see now. I always receive compliments on this bag, so I will have this one listed in the shop this weekend and am cutting a few more to list.
On a side note ~ Here is my completed trivet for the Zakka 2.0 sew=along. I LOVE how the patchwork itself turned out, but that darn bias binding. Bleh!! I have it on in this shot….put right after ripped it out to try again. I don’t think it’s going to win any awards, but it’s all mine and next week’s challenge is an awesome shopping bag so I can’t wait for that~
Enjoy your ‘hump’ day….Woot-Woot!
