A Use for my Bamboo Handles

I’ve had these cute bamboo handles for almost a year now and just couldn’t think of a handbag pattern or style that would look good with it. Until recently.  Enter this adorable owl cotton print I found at our local discount fabric shop in town. It’s a drapery weight, so while it wasn’t overly thick I didn’t need to use a stiff interfacing. The pink polka-dot fabric I used around the handles was a heavy home dec and I lined it with a thin fusible interfacing to give it a stiffer structure. I think it turned out quite well and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it too! I don’t think this will be a bag I’ll sell in my shop in the future, but maybe a variation of.  I favorite part of my new bag is that it has a lot of feminine colors. If you live in a house full of men, you’ll understand where I’m coming from!  Cindy
