I love getting custom order requests.  It is always a challenge to not only alter something you currently make, but to *tweak* it to fit that individual customer.  Don’t get me wrong, sometimes orders can be harder than others but for the most part are a nice change of pace.

This week I have been sewing an order for a client wishing to take a current item I sell and supersize it. Ah, enlarging a pattern.  No problem! The twill drawstring bubble pouch is always a fun sew and can be used in so many ways, don’t you agree?

My original pouch was about 6″ in size. Before I enlarged the pattern and cut into the clients fabric I made a *trial bag*.  So this cutie is all mine…good thing it turned out exactly how I wanted it. A perfect XL size 10-12″ inches that was requested.

There was such a loving story behind the order request, but one main request was to use darker green fabric. For the ties, I use 1/2″ twill tape with tri-folded stitched ends for longevity.  For interfacing I used Pellon SF101 and Pellon Fusible Fleece.  So there is plenty of stability and security and it can be washed and ironed without issue.

The clients pouches will be ready tonight after a good steam press and packaging.  I hope the recipient enjoys her new pouches! I think I may be making a few more of these now to add to the shop, they’re addicting.  Happy Sewing!
