Enter to Win The Boyd St. Bowling Bag ePattern by Emmaline Bags & Sewing Patterns!
I am so excited to finally share with you the e-pattern I tested a few weeks ago! The pattern was created by my blog buddy Janelle over at Emmaline Bags & Patterns. Janelle is a super-talented designer and her site is full of wonderfully detailed tutorials, tips and information about handbag designing. On top of that, she has her own shop that sells her line of e-handbag patterns and also purse hardware. Don’t ya just love one-stop shopping?!
My Boyd St. Bag was created out of a camel colored denim and camel/cream stripe home decor weight fabric. The handles were made brown faux-leather (aka vinyl!!) If you do not care for vinyl handles, Janelle’s pattern comes with detailed directions for fabric handles as well so you have an alternative. This bowler also has 6 purse feet, interior zipped pocket and slip-in pockets, and a nice wide gusset to give your bag a nice shape and room for all your purse (and for me – kiddo) goodies!
Having tested Janelle’s patterns before, I can honestly say her directions and pictures are top-notch. Materials list, pattern pieces and detailed step-by-step instructions with pictures are included. I would rate this pattern as advanced, previous handbag construction experience would be a good idea. I had no trouble with the construction, but if you have questions as you work Janelle is always happy to answer.
Now for the fun stuff!! Janelle, Veronica from sewVery and I are teaming up to host a giveaway to 2 lucky readers! Each winner will receive The Boyd St. Bag E-Pattern and a complete set of Boyd St. Bag hardware!
Two winners will be drawn from the entries in the Rafflecopter widget below.
Winners will be emailed and notified Wednesday April 17th. GOOD LUCK!
Thank you, Cindy! I love your post and your bag. The best part of your bag is that it will match my whole closet! Would look with capris or jeans or anything. Thank you so much about your generous review!! Janelle
It was my pleasure! I am so happy for you and love your work. Congrats 🙂
Cindy love you fabric choices, it is such a great bag.
Thanks Natalie! Your bag turned out great as well. On your site I asked about your exterior red…it’s awesome. Where did you find it?
Wow Cindy ! What a great job you made of that bag ! Love your fabric choices ! I’m hugely into florals at the moment & loving all the fab oilcloth fabrics out there too ! Think I’d like to try and make this bag in a funky apple print oilcloth ! X
Hey there! Long time no chat! I think it would be awesome in oilcloth. I can totally picture it too. Let me know if you try it 🙂 What have you been up to lately?
Love your photos. Great job!
Thank you so much!
