I *Heart* Linen…part 2

|

The other day I shared with you my favorite linen blend, Robert Allen’s Linen-Duck in Natural. Well yesterday I received a nice little USPS package from my other favorite linen source Fabrics-Store.com. I discovered this site through some Etsy communities last year and I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality.

For the most part, I stick to the 4c22-Bortovka. This is 100%Linen in a Natural Color. It is almost exactly the same color of the RA linen I use as well, but the texture (thinner, hard and stiff) and weight are totally different. The 4c22 is a 7.1oz/yd weight comes in 57″ width. Another perk is that this linen can be machine washed in a cold, gentle cycle and dried low followed my a gentle steam iron. It will soften up a bit too after you wash it.

I spent $8.40/yd, but when you order you can sign up for their newsletter to receive special sales and discounts.  Another incentive is you earn points for every dollar you spent that can eventually be redeemed for monetary discounts. Cool, huh?

I suggest before you order from here that you get swatches of the linens you are interested. The colors I saw on their site were very different from what you acutally receive (at least mine were). Fabrics-Store.com will allow up to 5 free samples at a time. They also have color guides you can purchase. So if you are looking for a new linen source, give them a try. You’ll be pleasantly surprised !
