It’s Coming! It’s Coming!
I’ve got such a jumble of news and other things to share I forgot Menu Monday! Yesterday, I got a call from the wonderful lady who has longarmed my Craftsy quilt. She said it was ready and after she squared it up it was off to the postman. WooHoo! I cannot wait to see my quilt and look at all the pretty stitching she did. I will share tons of pictures as well as her contact information with you later in the week.
In other fun news, Sew Mama Sew just announced their next Giveaway Day ~ December 9th. If you are not familiar with this great day and want to learn more, check out their Giveaway Day Post. I participated for the first time earlier this year and had so much fun looking at all the goodies that were being offered. Last year I giveaway this cute little bundle:
I have a few ideas for this year’s giveaway so I’ll give some clues as we get closer to the link-up date. Head over today and check it out. There are quite a few areas of arts/crafts/sewing available to link up to so be sure to sign up!
In the studio, I’m finding myself still working on several tiny projects. I think it’s helping me with the stress of moving soon and it gives me plenty of time to be with the boys. So while I cannot share a few of these project (sworn to secrecy!!) I can show you a few things I AM working on.
I am using a few fat quarters I found in my stash along with a lot of Essex Linen leftover from my Craftsy quilt to make a new ‘improv’ kind of quilt based on a Japanese pattern I’ve been admiring. It’s a lot of random cutting and piecing with no set measurements so I’m having a lot of fun with it. Here is a shot of it with some of the linen.
I’ve made about 15 of these large pieces so far. I hope to lay them out soon and see what kind of size I have going. I will just use these colored scraps and linen until they run out and see what happens next.
This piece of soft leather has been sitting on my table for over a week now. I love the color name, Dark Distressed Pecan Ale. I just like looking at it! Then again, I may be slightly frightened to cut into it because if you mess up your tote turns into a pencil case!! I know exactly what I want to make with it so when I’m confident with the design I’ll go for it. Maybe I’ll post the process?
Well, I’m off to make a million yards of Tula Pink Saltwater Orange Octopus Binding for my quilt. Have a great day everyone and thanks for reading. ~Cindy~
