Let the Christmas Projects Begin!
I don’t know why, but all those Christmas commercials I’m seeing on TV are making me want to whip out all my holiday decorations and get to work. Everyone else in the house is not quite ready yet, so I am going to start working on some projects I’ve had printed out for awhile. The first one is some pom-pom garland to decorate around each of the boys doors. I purchased the yarn in darker jewel tones to be more “masculine”. I have about 10 skeins of yarn ready to go, so a trip to Michael’s today to get a pom-pom maker will be in order. (Yes, I’ve tried the hand method….that didn’t go to well). After that, I’m going to start on my fabric garland. I’m using Moda Flurry Fat Quarter pack along with some lighter tan burlap and twine. The fabric and burlap will be torn into 8″ strips and tied in knots around the twine. I’ve seen greenery added as well as lights but I’m opting out of the lights. 3 boys + fire hazard = paranoid mommy. I have a lot of rail to cover, so starting now is probably a good idea.
To add more projects to my list, I saw the most adorable tutorial for a Christmas Ladder at Tatertots & Jello. I have the perfect place to put this in my family room and stain it to match my decor. It’s inexpensive and could easily be used year-round. Check it out if you have the time. Cindy
