Menu Monday ~ What’s on your menu?
This is my Monday. Rainy, Windy, Thunder, Lightning. Good ol’ Florida summertime soakers. It has been raining off and on since Saturday evening and because of this, the natives are restless and our outdoor time has been limited. When the boys were younger I had a full arsenal of summertime crafts and activities. Now that they are older, I am finding it harder to find “cool” things to do. They have their camps and we go on vacation, but the little everyday is a bit harder to plan. Do you have that trouble? Two things in our house still going strong is our wooden marble run and Legos. Thank goodness for Legos!
When I have a chance to get in the studio during the week, I try to stick to my weekly menu of plans so I can be as productive as I can. The next two weeks I am going to try and finish and list a few totes for my shop before we head out for vacation. This weekend I pulled out some great summertime fabric and my marine vinyl to combine for a fun beach look. I bought 1 1/2 yards of this 60″ print. I was able to use all the fabric and get about 4 large totes and should have enough for some smaller projects. I put up some shots when they are listed.
This week marks week Week 5 of the Zakka 2.0 sew-along. This week we are sewing the Diamond Placemats. Lynne from Lilly’s Quilts is the host this week and her place-mat is pretty perfect. I hope mine turns out as well. I’ll share finished shots of mine when I’m done.
So what are your crafty plans for the week? Any big projects you need to start or finish? Here’s what I hope to accomplish:
- Finish May BOM 2013 blocks
- Interface and begin to assemble beach bags
- Complete Zakka placemat
- Maybe sew a new bag for our vacation?? Something that needs to fit a lot of items yet fit well on the airplane.
We’ll see how far I get! If the rain ever stops we have pools and beaches to visit and bicycle rides to take. Rain, Rain, Go Away……
