Menu Monday! What’s on Your Menu?
Happy Monday! Boy am I still recovering from my weekend of fun and surprises. On Saturday, I met up with my college friend and sorority sister Danielle in Lakeland for the 2013 Sewing & Quilt Expo. We both live about an hour away, so we met up at the convention center and spent the day in complete bliss and overstimulation. When I got home, my hubby and boys surprised me with a extreme makeover back patio edition! New grill and brick pad for it and a great patio set with coordinating rug. They completed the makeover with pretty palm trees and a yummy BBQ chicken dinner. I love my men!
Have you ever been to an expo? This was my first one so I was not prepared for the insanity! Booths and booths of product, machines, quilt contests, fabric. Our fingers were itching to touch and buy everything in sight. Danielle and her mother have a very successful embroidery business, so I was introduced to monster machines, threads and techniques popular with people who like to embroider.
So what’s on my menu this week? This week I will share with you some of my great expo finds. Today, I finished an adorable beginner bag which got my to-do list this week off to a great start. I am also excited to start cutting fabric for an AWESOME bag I’m testing for my blog buddy Janelle over at Emmaline Bags & Patterns. I’m also uploading photos to Etsy and working on a care label for my bags & other goodies.
Here is the first of my expo finds. A low-shank ruffler foot!! I cannot tell you how excited I am to have found this….and at 1/2 price. I have been wanting one for some time, but the cost always kept me from getting it. When I saw that it was a good 50% cheaper at this booth I snatched it up. Do you have a ruffler foot? What have you made with it?
