I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Easter Sunday! My boys were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 6:15 am ready to dig through their baskets and eat scrambled eggs for breakfast. By 7 they were ready for their egg hunt, but realized that wouldn’t be happening because 1. I had not finished my coffee, and 2. I was in my jammies trying to peacefully eat breakfast.  We finally had our Easter egg hunt in the afternoon and enjoyed relaxing on our new patio set.  Let me tell you how nice it is to have an egg hunt outside in the warm weather. We’ve had so many inside due to cold, rain or snow.  We ended up the day with our traditional ham, great-grandmas potatoes, green bean casserole and cranberries. Yum!

So, what are your crafting and sewing plans this week?  I have still been plugging away at the business and tax requirements for my LLC.  It is a lot of information to process, but I think I’m getting close to having everything all squared away. That hopefully means I can open my store soon!

I had a few moments over the weekend when the business was getting the best of me.  I stopped what I was reading, then decided to take some time out to try something new. Patchwork and Paper Piecing!  I have several books on the topic with great patterns, but the actual how-to basics were lacking. When I found out that Ayumi Mills aka The Pink Penguin was coming out with her new book, “Patchwork, Please!”, I pre ordered it. It arrived last week so when I decided to switch gears for a bit I picked it up and started reading.  Here is a sneak peak of what I’ve been working on!

I will have a full post with pictures this week of what I completed from her book along with a review and links where you can buy it and join a sew-a-long this year.

So onto my menu.  I will finish my Patchwork, Please project and try to hold off doing more until her sew-along.  Raspberry Sunshine, LLC. will be up and running and (hopefully) in good tax-legal status.  I am going to sell a few particular notions in my shop so I need to get those finalized and ordered.  I also have an adorable ruffled bag that needs to be taken apart. The ruffles are the fold over flap and are perfect. But it’s the rest of the bag that is *meh*.  Maybe I’ll have enough nerve to post it and everyone can send me some ideas.

What’s on your menu this week?

EDITED TO ADD:  Patchwork, Please! Sew-a-Long is up. Head over to LR stitched HERE to read all about it!  Cindy
