Menu Monday’s ~ What’s on Your Menu? ~
Happy Monday from a soggy, thundering SW Florida! Today is the perfect day to get things done around the house. I suppose I’ll spend some time in my studio as well, but before I do that I really need to get out a notepad and start planning. This is the last week of school for the boys so my notepad really needs to be filled with things to do for the rest of the month. Luckily we have a week long Cub Scout camp for the younger boys and a week long Scout camp for oldest and M this month, so by the time we’re done with that we’ll need some down time.
Do you keep a menu of sorts during the summer? By menu I mean of things to do? I have been using Pinterest to save ideas and I think I have a good number of new things to try. The beach and pool will be at the top of our lists, but it gets dangerously hot here in the afternoons during the summer so I have to have indoor crafts and activities for boys to do. Do you have any tried-and-true indoor activities for your kids?
Summer planning will probably be my #1 thing on my menu this week. Besides summer planning, my plans this week are:
- Sewing up a few more prototypes of my travel pouch this week and photo shoots of those. (In hopes of having a few of you test it this month!)
- Working on a quick and cute free tutorial for the blog.
- Listing a few more items for the shop. Sales both online and custom have been smooth! So happy for that!
- Working on Patchwork, Please! sew-along. Yipee!
Today starts the beginning of week #1 of the Zakka 2.0 sew-along with Patchwork, Please! I am beyond excited and have been waiting patiently for it to start. Now through mid-October there will be one project each week from the book. This week’s project are the Bell Pepper Coasters. Penny from sewtakeahike is this week’s hostess so head on over to see her finished coasters (love the fabric!!) You can also see the entries, blog posts, and more over at the Zakka 2.o FLICKR page. Another great perk of the sew-along are that their will be tons of giveaways!
There are A LOT of great projects in this book! Some will be more challenging than others, but I am excited to learn all kinds of new techniques! Every Monday with my menu post I hope to share the sew-along for the week and what I plan to do. Later in the week I’ll share my finished project. Some weeks I will not participate due to other obligations/lack of time, but I will give you links to the project and blog hostess of the week. These are my fabric choices for the coasters this week. I’m channeling my inner child and pulling out some youth print scraps. Don’t you love the colors?!
Looks like I’ve got my hand full, so I’d better get to work! What’s on your menu this week? Cindy~
