Menu Monday’s ~ What’s On Your Menu?
Happy Monday everyone! I hope all the mom’s and mom’s-to-be out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day. My boys took me out to breakfast yesterday followed by a few gifts. My youngest and his Kindergarten class had a Mother’s Day tea on Friday so that was a wonderful gift to me. My middle made a giant cupcake card with 10 various coupons for me to use. My oldest and middle (with dad’s help) bought me a pretty necklace and a new purse!! It’s a small leather crossbody pouch, great for those times I don’t need to lug a tote around! M said they even picked it out themselves. My boys know me so well. The rest of my day was spent napping, catching up on my DVR and watching M get out my smoker and smoking us 2 beer can chickens. Yum!
This morning, I opened up my Bloglovin’ page to read my blogs and finally saw the Riley Blake Mystery Block for the month of May. This one looks like the hardest yet. It’s called “Selvage Spools” and all I have to say is thank goodness they have video tutorials so I can rewind when I need to. Click on the link and it will take you to their page where you can print out all the directions and watch their video tutorial.
So what’s on your crafty menu this week? I have many projects going on at the same time so I need to keep working on them. Hopefully, I’ll finish a few. Here’s my crafty-do-list:
- Finish and list the two totes I’m working on.
- Find fabrics and start May Mystery Block
- Print out material list for my first Craftsy class I’m taking (more on that later this week)
- Sort through and do SOMETHING with my scrap bins as they are taking over my studio!
- Work on another few steps of my e-pattern. It’s coming along well, but time consuming.
- Finish scrappy tote I started today (see pictures)
I’m finding these scrappy totes addicting to make. It may seem boring to sew lines back and forth but seeing it all come together at the end is worth it. I made a stiffer scrappy tote last time so this time I wanted to see how it looked with a softer backing. This tote will have fusible fleece, a piece of linen from a failed project and home decor scraps. I’m going to use linen for the handles. I’ll post some pictures when I’m done.
So what’s on your crafty menu this week? I’d love to see and hear what you’re up to! ~Cindy~
