Menu Monday’s! ~ What’s on Your Plate?
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend. M had the weekend off so we had some good quality time with him. We took advantage of the warm weather to do some much needed yard work. Not the most fun thing to do, but with three boys it goes by pretty fast. We did manage to plant quite a few sunflowers and I picked a few tomatoes of my oldest son’s tomato plant. Super yummy and sweet! The boys also put the finishing touches on their Pinewood Derby cars they will be racing with their Cub Scout Pack next weekend. Z’s car has a Superman theme this year while youngest has his signature orange car. I’ll tell you how the races go!
In the studio, I got quite a bit of work done. With youngest home sick Friday, I spent a lot of time cleaning out the studio. I managed to fold and organize my fabric stash and put away goodies I won’t be using in upcoming projects. I finished my April Riley Blake Mystery Block as well. This one was a bit hard for me, but I think it looks pretty good for a newbie. I really think having a linen theme with my blocks was a good idea. Totally not a normal quilting fabric, but when starched and slowly stitched it really works and looks good. Not sure what I’m going to do with them when the sew-along is over. Any ideas?
Yesterday I completed this large scrap block. It’s about 14″ x 11″. I have seen a few totes online made in this style and have really wanted to try it. After surfing Google for a bit I found enough directions to make my own. This morning I completed the second block so I hope to make a tote and list it in my shop.
Now that Monday’s here I’m bringing out my to-do list to figure out what needs to get done and what I would like to get done. My plans:
– Finish scrappy tote
– Continue work on e-pattern
– Work on my Etsy shop
– Finish blog updates
– Photograph more bags for the shop (my least favorite things to do!!)
Don’t forget that my friend Janelle is hosting a big giveaway on her site for her newest e-pattern The Boyd St. Bowling Bag. Time is running out to enter! So what are your plans for the week? Sewing, Embroidery, Knitting? Tell me what you’re working on. ~
Love, love, love the blocks & the scrappy bag you’ve started. I’ve been looking online for that method, too, and when I get a few more things completed, I am definitely making me one to keep. Gorgeous!!! I have a couple of totes with wallets & fobs to make this week and then there’s the ladybug baby quilt that needs to be quilted. Yep, I have quite a bit on my plate and love it!!!
Thank you Gale! I just finished the scrappy bag, so I’ll post some pictures tomorrow. I’d love to see the ladybug quilt when you are done. It sounds adorable 🙂
