My Tutti Fruity Penny Pinchers ~ A Betz White Pattern ~
I had the opportunity to test a new and unique pattern recently from Betz White. Called the Tutti Fruity Penny Pinchers, these cute little fruits are actually coin pouches with a hidden flex-frame closure!
I was a little nervous at first to start these pouches. I don’t typically work with felt or do much embroidery, and these involve both. After reading through the pattern though it looked like a quick sew and I jumped right in. It’s always fun to learn new techniques when sewing and working with new materials don’t you think?
This pattern includes all 3 shaped pouches, with instructions on how to add a grosgrain ribbon side tab if you want to add a o-ring. I made two without the ring and put one on my strawberry. So cute!!
I am not an embroiderer, but Betz includes easy to follow directions and techniques on how to stitch up everything. The pouches are fully lined as well and the flex-frame is put in last to keep those coins secure. Don’t need a coin bag? I put a few gift cards in some of mine to give away to teachers as an end-of-the-year gift.
Want to sew up the Lighthearted Lime, The Pretty Pineapple, or the Sassy Strawberry?! Head over to Betz’s Shop to grab the pattern. She also has flex frames and felt available for sale too.
