My Weekly Crafty Reading ~ Hooray For Libraries!
I am LOVING the CNY library system! With a few clicks of the mouse, I have been able to assemble quite the reading list this summer. A few weeks back I shared my first bookshelf post and what I was reading. I kept those until the due date and grudgingly returned them to the library. Well lucky for me I got another notice e-mail over the weekend that a few more books I had on hold were ready, so after the boys signed up for the summer reading program I picked up my new books and went home to read these:
Playful Little Paper-Pieced Projects by Tacha Bruecher
Carry Me – 20 Boutique Bags to Sew by Yuka Koshizen
Little Stitches: 100 Sweet Embroidery Designs 12 Projects by Aneela Hoey
I adored Playful Little Paper-Pieced Projects (I may have scanned a few things from this one!). I am still not comfortable with paper piecing, but these projects make me want to try some more! Carry Me is a nice simple bag sewing book. I am comfortable sewing most handbag patterns so I would classify them as a comfortable and confident sewist. The book is well put together and the patterns are really cute. I love the cover bag pattern the most. The last book I finished was Little Stitches. To say adorable is an understatement. I loved looking at all the cute scenes and little how-to’s. I am not an embroidery person (yet) so this wouldn’t be a keeper for me, but for someone wanting to build up his/her stitching library I would tell them to check it out.
I have a few more days until I need to return these lovelies so I need to make sure I have jotted down or scanned items I am interested in. I can’t wait to see what books on my list come in next! What crafty books have you been looking through recently? I’d love to add more books to my list!
Be sure to check out the blog in the next few days. I am going to share my Totes Ma Tote Bag I tested for Emmaline Bags and give you a few links to some cool new products I will be stocking in my shop! Have a great 4th of July! Cindy
