Riley Blake’s Mystery Block of the Month – Part 1 –
Well, I got the first part done. Does that count? The printed directions were next to me but darned if I didn’t get stuck on a simple abbreviation! You know what it was? …… WOF…….
So I pick out my 3 fabric selections for the month (they chose a pink theme) and I go to my table still not knowing what WOF means. But in order to proceed with the cutting I had to finally force myself to Google it. WOF = Width of Fabric. Not sure why I didn’t pick that one up but I’ll blame it on lack of sleep. So while I didn’t complete the whole block today, at least I can say I learned something new!
Here is what I’ll see in the morning on my sewing table: 36 – 3 inch squares, 12 of each color. My colors this month are my favorite linen and 2 prints from Sweetwater’s Hometown that I found in my odds-n-ends bin. RB’s site also has a ten minute video tutorial you can watch that will show you the basic assembly of the quilt block. I will watch that tonight so I can actually finish it before the month’s end.
After the quilt pieces were cut out I was able to finish up my calendar forms so I can put them up on the blog. I will aim to upload them Friday or Saturday. I was also able to assemble a very rough prototype of a pattern I’ve had in my head for some time. I hope it turns out as well as I’m hoping. Here’s to a productive Wednesday!!!
Yay, I’ve got my password again so I can leave a comment! Love that chevron block, can’t wait to see how it turns out. I need to find me some text prints too!
