Sidetracked by my Juki
I’d like to introduce you to my new sewing machine. It’s a Juki 8700-7 born and raised in Japan. It took a month to arrive and almost killed M to put it together, but it was so worth it! This is basically a single-needle straight stitch machine, but has tons of programming options from thread cutting to backstitching. My Juki has the potential to stitch over 5,000 stitches per minute, which coming from a Bernina Bernette 65 is very fast and intimidating. But, I have been sewing up a storm and am finally getting use to the speed. I am also still tightening/loosening components to fit my sewing needs, but I see myself growing old and crusty with this beauty.
I have also been working on a few handbags and tutorials from a few of my favorite blogs. When I complete a few, I’ll post them for you to see. My blog is also coming along slowly but it’s getting there. I am still playing with colors, but am settled on the fonts and some formatting. So, don’t be suprised if you see changes in colors or locations of topics, eventually they will stay put!

They don’t make it easy to find information!! I have never heard of a DVD, but the manual can be downloaded here:

The manuals are not very helpful either. I would suggest going over to YouTube. I found several tutorial videos there that were helpful. Also, I
would call your local sewing machine/vacuum repair shop and ask if they have a repairman that specializes in industrial machines. If they don’t there is a good chance they may be able to direct you to someone is. That is what I did where I live. My repair man comes to my house to tune-up my machines.
