Purse Week Entry — Sneak Peak!
With the kiddos back in school and some builders cutting a hole in our dining room ceiling to find a leak, I spent most of my day today in the studio. The hole is now closed (although they have to re-seal it and paint the whole dining room again!) and they found the location of the leak (which requires taking of a lot of pretty tile in my master shower)BOO! So they are done for the moment, but I still have some sewing time before the bus comes.
So here is what I’ve been working on…..my Purse Week entry! You have seen the fabric, and some other ideas I have shared so here is a sneak peak. I am really happy with how it’s turning out, although I did alter my orginial pattern a bit once it came together.
It’s amazing what happens to my eyes once I go from a pattern idea to the actual bag or clutch. Is it just me, or do your ideas and patterns often get tweaked? I planned to put a little fold-over flap closure on this bag. I also planned to attach the strap on the outside. Not anymore. It just didn’t look good when I tried it out. The linen I used has a bit more flexibility than I normally use so the hang would have made the bag look wonky.
So now I have two D-Rings and no flap. I did put in a magnetic closure to keep the bag closed when needed. Now I’m finishing up on my strap then I will press the bag and take some fancier shots. Hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have my entry up. Back to the trenches! See ya!
