Spring Break Check-In
The boys started Spring Break over the weekend, so we’ve been doing everything in slo-mo around here this week. I will share our adventures soon, but in the meantime I’ll show you a few things I’ve finished.
For some reason, I find myself sewing with my Featherweight in the corner of the family room. Don’t ask me why, it works for me. The only trouble I have with this is the Hulk and Minecraft bodies that lay around me while I sew! Oh well.
I finally finished up the straps and topstitching for my super-jumbo Featherweight tote. I used denim for the bottom material and the rest was made using 7″ squares that turned into selvedge blocks. I interfaced this bag to death so it’s super sturdy. I also made a large quilted zippy pouch to hold the foot controller/cords.
The past few evenings I have been able to sneak in some time to finish two more blocks from the 163 Patchwork Book. These were quite simple and came together quickly. I used red and grey polka dot for the main fabric, which I bought in a fat 1/8th low-volume bundle from Pink Castle Fabrics. Love the bundles she makes. The rest were Kawaii prints from my dwindling stash.
The mailman delivered a fat 1/8th bundle of Bonnie & Camille’s Scrumptious to me a few days back so I could finish my guest room quilt top. This is such a wonderful line!
So that’s all to report for now. We actually had time most of the afternoon today to play outside. The sun was out, the birds are chirping and the bulbs and plants are starting to come up. So nice to finally see. Too bad it’s only 50 outside! Have a great day everyone!
The tote is gorgeous and the fabric… so, so, beautiful!! I love it. You sew on the floor?
Not typically, but I was working on a few things and the floor was the only place I could find to spread out LOL! It was a big *HELLO* ya need to clean up your studio kinda thing!
