Weekending – Birthday Edition

One of my favorite men turned 7 on Friday:

2014-04-13 14.04.35Having a birthday on a school day can be quite fun, but for T he was torn. Do I open my goodies before or after school? Cupcakes or Cookies for my friends? Mom, can I stay home from school today and play? Such hard decisions for a little boy, huh?  So I answer him: You have to go to school big-guy, but the rest is your decision. So Friday morning at 6:30 all the clan was downstairs to open gifts and I had mini-cupcakes for his class ready to go.

2014-04-11 07.02.18Legos, Nerf guns and outdoor play-things ruled this birthday.  The Lego movie made it into our house in video form so Unikitty and the other cast of characters were alive in the basement a bit this weekend.  We also went to the local pizza restaurant for his birthday dinner followed by ice cream at the local ice cream shop. The kid was in hog heaven!

Love this boy!

Sunday was the *BIG* day for T. A birthday party at our local MyGym!  If you don’t have one nearby, it’s similar to The Little Gym.  For an hour and a half, two teachers put 12 7-yo’s through a good workout.  They had the best time and with all the kids being in the same school class together, they all got along and really enjoyed the afternoon.

The party finale was what I called midget zip-lining! The couldn’t get enough of it! After the zip-lining, we pumped them up with a little bit of sugar and sent them on their way.

T announced this morning that his 7th birthday was the best ever.  I agree. Hope you all are having a great start to the week. Thanks for reading!
