WIP Wednesday ~ 1 finish 1 not-so-finished….

|

Hi ya’ll!  I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday.   I have been sewing up a new pattern for my shop and *thought* I had it down pat. But I didn’t.  The bag is correct in measurements and a majority of the fabric being used, but I struggled a bit with the leather weight.  Too bad it was after I stitched into it. UGH.  Frustrating as it is, I did learn that 4oz leather is too thick for what I’m making and it can’t be folded down without compromising the finished look.  I will try again tomorrow and see if a thinner version works better. I was able to finish the May block for  Stichery Dickory Dock’s Sugar Block Club this weekend. The May theme was JOY.  Amy’s message was about being Joyful in your life and really appreciating *being grateful* for all you have. I love reading Amy’s monthly message and as a mom and wife can relate to her so much. If you are interested in learning more about this club, head over to Amy’s blog for more information about her Sugar Block Club or Craftsy classes.

Here are my five blocks so far. Kona Snow and RK’s Essex Linen is the common thread with these blocks, but the rest of the fabric is from my mid-size scrap bins. May’s fabrics were all from Anna Maria Horner.

Today I’m linking up with Lee over at Freshly Pieced.  Have a relaxing evening! Cindy

  1. Cindy sorry to hear about your leather. You can sometimes you can shave some leather from the back of your leather at the place you want to fold down.

    1. That is what I’m going to try tonight. I’ll let you know how it turns out 🙂

  2. I’m a Sugar Club member too, but having signed up for the Fabric/Project diet until the end of June, I’ll have the first 6mths blocks to catch up on then. The whole concept is a really good idea and I’ve made both the Cobbler recipe and the Chocolate chip cookie recipe so far. Love how your blocks are turning out – and can’t wait to start my own!

    1. Thanks Suzanne!! I need to be on a fabric diet too….so I applaud your strength LOL! I’ve been able to use a lot of scraps so far which is has been helpful on the checkbook. 🙂 Cindy
