WIP Wednesday – Friendship Quilt

|

Hey there!  Today I’m linking up with Lee from Freshly Pieced for her Wednesday WIP. With my Sugar Block Club done and my Patchwork Personal Challenge for the week done, I finally got out my baggies of Scrumptious by Bonnie & Camille I cut many months ago and started sewing.

I am using a version of the Friendship Block from Kerry (verykerryberry) & Lynne (Lily’s Quilts) book, 500 Quilt Blocks. This 4 square will eventually turn into a 16 block (10″ square).  Rinse and repeat a few more times until I have a twin sized quilt for our guest room in our basement! I also found 2 yards of another Bonnie & Camille fabric on discount at our local quilt shop so I will incorporate that into the backing somehow.

So besides working on these little cuties the past few days, I finally broke down and bought some paint to redo my studio area in the basement. The mustard/burgundy blend was driving my eyes nuts, so out came the pale blue. I painted one wall to see how it looked and boy what a difference it has made. Of course this has now led to me painting the rest of the studio, re-organizing my fabric, scraps, samples, scrapbooking paper….

On a more exciting note, I celebrated my birthday yesterday! The kiddos were at school, hubby was at work, so I caught up on some DVR shows and worked in my studio. May not sound like an exciting birthday, but for me is was wonderful. And look what I got:

Yes, it’s a sewing machine! Can you tell what kind?

I will share her story and pictures when I get her back from her tune-up.

I think I’m going to name her Gracie. xoxo Cindy

  1. Yummy Bonnie & Camille blocks! I bought myself a Featherweight for my birthday last year. I need to take her out to play more often.
