WIP Wednesday – Need feedback!
Hey there! My WIP Wednesday this week has been a busy one, but I need some input for one of my projects. Here she is: This is going to eventually be a quilt for our guest bedroom. I am having trouble deciding if I should add sashing between the blocks or to connect them. I know I’d like some sort of wide border around the edges, but in between? I am just not sure yet. What do you think? The fabric I’m using is Scrumptious by Bonnie & Camille. Love their fabric.
I also completed my April Block for Amy Gibson’s Sugar Block Club. I look forward to her messages every month and this month was no different. I am using RK Essex Linen in Natural and a creamy Kona somewhere in each block so it has that cohesiveness when I put them all together at the end of the year. I like how my blocks are looking so far.
On a totally non-sewing or quilting note, I am almost done getting my licensing for selling in New York. Boy, they sure make it hard to start a small business up here. My DBA is being finalized, then I can open up shop again. Behind the scenes I am sewing custom pieces working with some veg-tanned leather to perfect the strap-making process.
There you have my WIP’s! What are y’all up to? Today I am linking up over at Freshly Pieced. Come check it out
I say no sashing. I love the fabric and layout you have created! Your Sugar Blocks look great too! Good luck getting your license.
Thanks! Looks like the vote is no sashing, which will be easier in the long run too! Cindy
I agree, no sashing, it already look great. I love Scrumptious fabric line, so fresh and happy 🙂
Thanks Min! Bonnie & Camille fabrics are all fresh and happy, huh? I think I have enough scraps from my bundle to make another quilt too! (Well, maybe I’ll have to buy a few more charm packs LOL!)
Agree, no sashing needed!..I really like that essex linen, am off to research, I think I have at least 2 projects that could use it!
Essex linen is my FAVORITE material to use. It goes well with everything and always adds a nice touch to my projects. Their yarn-dyed linen is great too!
I agree with the others. Sashing would break up that lovely lattice effect you now have.
I think so too Joan. I worked hard for that effect LOL!
Your guest room quilt is divine. Don’t change a thing. The linen you selected is so nice. Will it wash well, when the quilt is finished and laundered? I love it.
The linen washes very well and gets softer after wash IMO 🙂
